see hole. walk to hole. fall in hole.

in the wake of the knicks' collapse during the last month, let's deconstruct this image shall we?

the look in eddy's eyes. he sees the recent past... of quentin richardson's injury plagued career. [brandy's not so dumb as she looks]. he sees a broken david lee, who has possibly played the best ball in his life already. he sees a jerome james, a waste of a contract [can i borrow $10,000?]. he sees a jamal crawford, a dim light on an even dimmer team. he sees a stevie franchise, a misplaced piece on a mishandled team. he sees a stephon marbury... a phenomenal player who could never meet expectations and never please enough people. 'character is fate'... blessed with talent, cursed by talent.

finally, eddy sees himself. the gaze says it all. will he ever be anything more than he is now? does a rebound actually exist when it's a rebound in the first minute of a knicks loss? what does the future hold? will it matter to anyone when he's gone? when is his next meal?

'I Love The Knicks'... i do. i do. i do. who does that hand, holding a pen up to eddy, belong to? possibly the creator of that sign? a random observer asking for eddy to leave his mark? a mark. now and forever. the hand belongs to all of us. we watch, we hope, we accept defeat, and we come back.

thanks for the season guys. we can't hate you, because you are us.

okay okay i finally got the ratatat remixes vol.2!

the halo benders. they are old. and still very very awesome

the live footage is new. unfortunately, the first youtube vid that comes up is a skate vid set to 'virginia reel around the fountain', which is a fucking sick song. [people slept on that record!]. if you know me you know i don't give a shit about skateboarding, but at least this video is of jerry.

the new UGK song with outkast is CRAZY. i mean, maybe the best raps i've heard in 3 years.

this is jason's janky video he took at SX. you like the part where he drops the camera? why do people wave their arms like that? it looks stupid.

this is the link for 'said' song. seriously it's hectic! [it's the top one]

play them all at once

dr dog played a sold out bowery last night. what a long strange trip it's been! i have overflowing love for this band what can i say?

they played 'i hope there's love', which to me was mind-boggling.

YES! the pyramid of truth is back! do you know how major 'i hope there's love' is? find it! it's out there!

so battles has a new record and played last night!

they are major to me! my first time away from the nest when i was a wee dude was in pittsburgh in 1994. it's was the pits [ba-dum!]. but the first week i walked downtown and bought don cab's 'unresolved karma' 7" [and the first helmet single, which is weird thinking about that now... sidenote] and then spent the whole rest of the summer chasing down don cab, hurl, and karl hendricks trio records. i saw codeine, crackerbash and the grifters that summer too. the two tapes all summer? 'no pocky' and 'daydream nation'

so now it's 2007 and battles is shredding my mind and your mind. revenge of the nerds? excelsior?

"every blog i've ever loved has wanted to be hit." smog played a fader event on friday. it was crazy. jim white on drums and newsome on a grand piano.

not to get too too weird on you, but it was kind of a crucial situation for me. i mean, do you remember my last smog post [definitely not]? this dude has been making me bummed/psyched for half my life. CALLAHAAAN [with fist shaking in air]. of course i think joanna rules and i was 16 when i saw the dirty three shred NYC. jim white was just as good then. listen to 'rock bottom riser' again today and tell me it's not the best song ever. even better than akon!
